Welcome to The Right Step For Ross

Help Ross lead a normal life

I Believe - Yolanda Adams

Ross Kerr is an amazing little boy he is 3 He loves playing with his friends and having fun how ever struggles a lot as he  has  Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy and this prevent’s him from doing certain things such as ride a scooter or hop, play football or walk properly without support from a splint or cast. How ever we can change this around with a little help from our friends.

Ross was 8 days overdue and it was a difficult birth.
When he was a baby he did not learn to crawl, instead he used his bum to get everywhere and was a late walker.

When he did begin to walk we noticed that he was unsteady on his feet and was walking on his right toes, therefore we made an appointment to see a consultant.

Before the consultants appointment, we ended up taking him to A&E as he was in pain one day and could hardly walk.
We were referred to Yorkhill who confirmed Ross had an inflammation on his hip and he was showing typical signs of Cerebral Palsy.
This was the first we had heard this mentioned.

Through subsequent appointments and an MRI Scan he was diagnosed with Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy on 29th November 2010. We were told this was caused by him having a stroke in the womb at 28 weeks.
This resulted in Motor Neuron damage to the left side of his brain.

We have applied and been accepted for Ross to have a life changing SDR operation in St Louis Children’s Hospital in America.
We need to raise approximately £45,000 for the operation and costs.
Any extra money above this would help Ross with Physio & equipment costs which he will require to have after the operation.
The more money we raise, the more we can help Ross to have a better quality of life.

Please help in any way that you can so Ross can be like all his Friends
